Friday, May 16th is our awards day for the 7-11 grades.  We plan to have Bible review at 8:10 and then breakfast for the students at 9:00.  We would like to ask parents to send in food for the students.  Please, email Mrs. Hall at thall@bluegrassbaptist.com  and let her know what you will be able to send in.  The teachers will supply the juice and milk.  Paper products are also supplied.   We expect to feed about 100 people.

Our plan is to set-up the food for the students in the gym and allow them to come in and make their plates.  After everyone has finished eating, we will then begin the awards ceremony.  We plan to be finished by 11:45.

Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend the award ceremony.

There is a lunch break scheduled for 11:55-12:25, 1st hour review 12:30-1:55, and 4th hour review 2:00-3:25.  If your student does not have a 1st or 4th hour final, they may leave after the awards ceremony.  All students are expected to attend the awards ceremony.

Thank you.

Attached is a wonderful article about bullying.  The article emphasizes the impact carrying educators and adults can make in the lives of students.  One of our priorities at BGBS is to provide a safe, carrying environment for our students.  Enjoy the article and have a blessed weekend.

Good morning, BGBS Family.  Many blessings to you today!

What an awesome opportunity we have to share Christ with our students in our athletics program!  2 Timothy 3:15-17 says And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.  Whether our kids are hitting a volleyball, shooting free throws, or catching fly balls we can teach them to do it all unto His glory!  What an awesome God we serve!

This week our girls are going to North Hardin to play their season opener against North Hardin.  The girls will be leaving school on the bus Friday at 3:00.  We want to invite our BGBS school family to go with us!  Any student or parent can ride the bus for $5.00 each ($10/family).  Students must bring Mrs. Robinson their $5.00 and a note before they can get on the bus Friday at 3:00.  We hope many of you will come out and support our Lady Eagles!

This Saturday at 1:00 our Varsity Boys Baseball team will be taking on Heritage at Garden Springs.  Bring a chair and come out to support our EAGLES!  We have had two successful scrimmages against Trinity and Winchester.  From our seniors down to our 7th graders, the boys are working hard and looking good!  We are proud of our boys and their hard work.

Thank you to all the parents for juggling practices, scrimmages, school work, and life!  We appreciate you!

REMINDER:  All athletic fees are due!!  Baseball and Softball fees are $140.00.  Please, get those to Mrs. Robinson this week!

Surveys:  Thank you to the parents who have taken the time to return the school evaluations.  If you have not taken the time to complete a survey, please, take a few minutes to fill it out and return it.  The deadline is Wednesday, March 30th.  We appreciate your feedback.

Please, don’t forget that all Washington, DC and Senior trip fees are due not later than April 1st!  If you have not returned your student’s trip contract, that is also due.

Thank you, Parents, for sharing your children with us here at BGBS.  We appreciate you.

Dear Parents and Students,

We will be leaving Monday morning, April 11th, for Washington, D.C.  Below I have outlined important information for the trip.   Please, do not hesitate to email me at lwatts@bluegrassbaptist.com or give me a call at 494-6430 if you have any questions.

Several students still need to turn in their student contract.  Students may not get on the bus until they have turned in their student contract.

We will be eating out five (5) times during the week that is not included in the trip. You should send $6-$10 for each fast food stop.  Spending money for concessions or shopping is also recommended.

VERY IMPORTANT:  Every student attending the trip MUST have a photo ID.  No student will be allowed on the bus without a PHOTO ID!  If your student does not have a photo ID, you can obtain one at Regency Drive’s driver’s licensing office.  Exchange students MUST bring their passports!

Students may bring one suitcase and one carry-on bag.  This does not include a purse, ladies.

Dress Code:  Knee length shorts, t-shirts, polos, comfortable shoes, etc.  Remember, we will be doing A LOT of walking!  Girls may not wear flip flops while we are traveling around Washington, DC, because it will hurt their feet.  Please, pack wisely.  We will be out and about four days in Washington, DC.  During those four days, we will be out all day and there will not be time for wardrobe changes.  Pack light, pack comfortably.  Ladies, this is not a fashion show.  Remember girls…modest and comfortable!

Please, be at school by 7:15 a.m. Monday morning, April 11th.  I will unlock the gym and we can wait inside the gym until we can load up the bus.

We will return late Friday night, April 15th.  I will have students call when we are 30 minutes out to give you an opportunity to meet us at school.

If your student is on prescription meds, please, place all of your students’ meds and instructions in a zip lock storage bag with his/her name printed clearly on the outside of the bag.  I will log all prescription medication and keep it in the first aid kit with me.  I will also make sure prescription meds are dispensed as necessary.  Students may bring their own Advil, Tylenol, etc. and turn it in to Mrs. Watts to keep for them.    Students may not keep any medication with them.

Thank you, as always, for all of your support.  It is much appreciated.
